Our new KIA Sorrento wouldn’t start yesterday evening in the parking lot of my office building. Mike Lavorata from the Medical Group at UL had jumper cables and went out of his way to get my car started. It took less than a minute for the jumper cable to do the trick. Therefore not sure if I had left the lights running (draining the battery) or if a cable was/is loose. In any case, I am indebted to Mike for his assistance.
Then there is Donna my colleague. She is a single mother who had to run to pick up her son and zoomed right back to UL, in order to make sure that I got back home safe. Ignoring my protestations, she followed me home just in case…, and then took us (my son & I) for dinner at Peter Pan Diner, Bay Shore, NY.
Peter Pan Diner is another place that we dine at, often. We love the service; the food is always fresh and tasteful, and every effort is made to cater to my vegetarian idiosyncrasies. Yesterday was no different. John (Donna’s son) ordered hot dog off the children’s menu. Dev (my son) ordered cheese quesadilla requesting that they add corn and beans to it. Unlike at Chili’s his request was granted.
Donna and I shared the Garden of Eatin’ quesadilla, and a Greek salad with the chicken on the side. The Garden of Eatin’ quesadilla is grilled with fresh spinach, garlic, tomatoes, onions, black beans and a three cheese blend. I of course had to make a few changes. “A little less spinach and some roasted red peppers thrown in please” I said.
Everything was perfect from the Greek salad to the quesadillas. Except of course John’s hot dog came on a bun rather than the usual roll.
The tzatziki sauce that Peter Pan diner serves is the best that I have had and deserves a mention along with the dressing for the Greek salad. Donna usually does not like anything that she orders, however she loved the chicken, and I have been told by many others that the fillet of sole is buttery and flavorful.
Thumbs up to good food, good friends and good Karma!
